Over the last few weeks we have made some major changes to the game, we decided to go against the four player split screen and instead use a single camera. All the feedback received from previous builds was the main reason for the decision to use one camera instead, people felt splitscreen offered very little. We also have a new camera perspective, after questioning a few others we found this camera angle is ideal for now as feedback dictated that no one felt at a disadvantage wherever they were on screen. Additionally we now have a cannon system that is fully functional, the cannon works on a colour/orientation system that matches the buttons on the Xbox controller. If the player presses ‘X’ the cannon will interpolate its rotation to face the blue base, the cannon will then wait for a confirmation before shooting. It requires the player to press the button again to confirm that they are ready to shoot to avoid players accidentally firing at a base with a misclick. I’m still working on getting each controller to move an individual player so we can start testing how the game plays with four players.
