Jason's Thoughts 6 - More UI Feedback!

After showcasing both our HUD's we had some great feedback. We were told that the new HUD was not aesthetically pleasing enough, but that it was far clearer to read and understand. So we have decided to scrap both! Great success! It’s a bit of work down the drain but aside from learning skills in these areas, this is simply part of the game development process. So we have decided to begin creating a bit of a mixture. It will have the general HUD elements that we tried to employ in the first HUD, while still only displaying the absolute essentials. So a simple HUD with a crate counter, two shield images for the two levels of defence upgrades and a more obvious HP setup below the HUD setup.
Revision: we have decided to go for a single empty shield, with two levels of development. This means you complete the first shield, then a second empty, more advanced shield is spawned on top of the old one. This one can also be completed for higher defence upgrades. This creates space and removes the need to have the already completed shield displayed, because once the first shield is complete it is essentially redundant and therefore there is no point in displaying it.
